Short answers

What to know before you book.

Open only the question you need. These guides support a booking decision without trying to diagnose the cause of a symptom.

How soon after a flight can I book?

There is no single timing rule for a healthy traveller who feels well. Leave enough time for immigration, baggage, food, hydration, hotel check-in and traffic. Choose a time when the appointment will feel unhurried.

What should I tell the therapist?

Mention how long you travelled, areas that feel stiff, medicines, recent surgery, pregnancy, a history of blood clots and any new symptom. The therapist may recommend postponing and seeking medical advice.

When is post-flight massage not appropriate?

Do not massage a leg with new one-sided swelling, pain, warmth, redness or unusual tenderness. Seek urgent medical advice, especially if symptoms occur with breathlessness or chest pain. The NHS identifies these as possible blood-clot symptoms.

Safety comes before the appointment.

Travel fatigue and a possible blood clot are not the same. New one-sided leg symptoms, sudden breathlessness, chest pain or coughing blood require urgent medical assessment, not a massage booking. Massage is a spa service, not medical diagnosis or treatment. Tell the therapist about injuries, health conditions, medicines, pregnancy, recent surgery and any area that should be avoided. Frequently asked questions

Useful answers, kept concise.

Is massage good after a long flight?

It may be a comfortable relaxation option for an otherwise well traveller with ordinary stiffness. It is not appropriate for unexplained swelling, significant pain or symptoms of a possible blood clot.

Should I book 30 or 60 minutes after flying?

Choose 30 minutes for one focus area or a shorter first-day appointment. Choose 60 minutes for a broader, slower treatment.

Can massage fix jet lag?

No. Massage may help you relax, but it does not reset your body clock or medically treat jet lag.

Should I book before hotel check-in?

Usually it is more comfortable to check in, eat and plan the route first. Travel and traffic times vary, so avoid booking a tight connection.

Can massage help swollen feet after flying?

New swelling, especially on one side or with pain, warmth, redness, breathlessness or chest pain, needs medical advice. KiWest does not offer lymphatic drainage treatment.
