Start with the experience you want.

Desk work can coincide with muscular tightness around the neck, shoulders, back and hips. Massage may provide temporary comfort and a reason to pause, but it does not replace movement, workstation changes or medical assessment when symptoms are persistent or neurological.

KiWest Spa is a day spa in Belleville, Saint Michael, Barbados, near Bridgetown. Massage services are booked as KiWest Massage, Deep Tissue Massage or Hot Stone Massage, not as a medical treatment.

KiWest Massage

For clients who want moderate pressure and broader relaxation rather than intense local work.

Short answers

What to know before you book.

Open only the question you need. These guides support a booking decision without trying to diagnose the cause of a symptom.

What should I focus on during the consultation?

Describe where you notice tightness, how long you sit, whether symptoms change with movement and which areas you want worked on or avoided. Do not self-diagnose a posture problem for the therapist to “fix.”

Is 30 or 60 minutes more useful?

Thirty minutes suits one main focus such as shoulders and upper back. Sixty minutes gives more time to include related areas and a calmer full-body flow.

What else can help between appointments?

Regular movement breaks, varied positions and a comfortable workstation may be useful everyday measures. Seek qualified medical or physiotherapy advice when symptoms persist, worsen, travel into an arm or leg, or include weakness or numbness.

Safety comes before the appointment.

Massage is not a treatment for a trapped nerve, disc problem or repetitive-strain injury. New weakness, numbness, significant pain or symptoms after an injury should be assessed medically. Massage is a spa service, not medical diagnosis or treatment. Tell the therapist about injuries, health conditions, medicines, pregnancy, recent surgery and any area that should be avoided. Frequently asked questions

Useful answers, kept concise.

Which massage is best for office workers?

Deep tissue may suit firm, focused work. KiWest Massage may suit a broader relaxation goal. The best choice depends on your pressure preference and focus areas.

Can massage fix poor posture?

No. Massage may help muscular tightness feel more comfortable, but it does not permanently correct posture or replace movement and workstation changes.

Can I focus on my shoulders and hips?

Yes. Explain your priorities during the consultation. A 60-minute appointment provides more time for multiple areas than a 30-minute appointment.

Should a massage hurt to work?

No. Firm pressure can feel intense, but it should remain tolerable. Ask for lighter pressure at any time.

What if I have tingling in my hand or leg?

Tingling, numbness or weakness may need medical assessment. Tell the therapist before treatment and seek professional advice if symptoms are new, persistent or worsening.
